David was inspired by the word "Strength". He used that word on his bike helmet when he was in 5th grade, and about to embark on a bike trip across the state of California. Now we are using it to show families facing cancer that they are not alone. They can draw their strength from us. Strength in Numbers symbolizes not only David's energy, but the power that we all have when we band together. It symbolizes how much more research can be done when we bring the data together in one place. It symbolizes the collective power we have when we pool our financial resources behind projects that live on beyond their original purpose. And most of all, it symbolizes the community standing with these families as they face the toughest time in their lives.
